Back to First World War

Memorial service

A joint memorial service was held at Westminster Abbey between all the main engineering institutions in 1919, to honour their Members who died during the First World War. As well as an order of service, the book contains an honour roll for IMechE, Iron and Steel Institution, Institution of Electrical Engineers (as was), Institution of Naval Architects and the Institution of Civil Engineers. The band of the Royal Engineers provided music before the service.

Our online Honour Roll contains biographies for each fallen member.
