Badge created for the IMechE Summer Meeting in Manchester in 1929. It is a circular design made of gold-coloured metal with a light blue band around the edge containing the name of the Institution and year. The inner section contains the city symbol of Manchester - a shield containing red and gold stripes, a small boat, topped with a helmet and with a representation of bees on the world. The shield is flanked by a lion and a heraldic antelope. The city motto is on a small light blue banner 'Concilio et labore'. Another light blue banner at the bottom contains the city name. It is a needle pin fastening.
